I have come to terms with the fact that the EEOC seems to work in favor of selective employers. I filed a charge against a publicly traded company and the assigned mediator was, by far, the most unprofessional individual I have ever communicated with. He demonstrated a short temper, ignorance, and resentment.

During our initial phone conversation, I asked for clarification on the effectiveness of mediation, as I was the victim of racial discrimination through no fault of my own. In response, he adopted an aggressive tone, expressed his personal opinions, and gave an analogy that implied favoritism toward my former employer. Shocked, I had to check my phone twice to confirm that I was indeed speaking to an EEOC agent. His email signature, ironically claiming to be “impartial and effective,” only added to my frustration.

Subsequently, I attempted to limit our communication to email, but he ignored all my messages. After many months of silence, my case was passed on to an investigator who is now displaying the same behavior as the mediator in regards to failure to communicate. As such, I expect no impartial conclusion to my charge, and I anticipate a decision that will ultimately favor my abuser.

It is deeply disappointing that the very agency tasked with protecting victims of discrimination appears to willingly inflict further harm. A brief review of available information suggests that the EEOC engages in selective prosecution. What a disheartening reality!

So far not a good experience. The case manager told me twice that he would do his due diligence so i can do mine. He lied.

Bruce was the first person I got in touch with, to ask about further information for filing an EEOC case. He was very reassuring and stayed with me throughout the phone call to tend to all my inquiries, and didn't rush. He was very professional and straightforward, but still sounded like he truly cared, which meant a lot to me for such a difficult and mentally draining time. Wishing the best of everything to you, always, Bruce, and from a former fellow Californian.

I was not helped here and based on my experience I question whether or not this office is equipped to help any workers in this current time and place. Like another reviewer I felt the investigator assigned to me mainly wanted my file off his desk. He showed in my opinion a very immature grasp of workplace dynamics, straight out said that he did not consider my case worthy of EEOC resources, and took at various points in our conversation, a dismissive and even at times demeaning tone. Overall, reaching out to the EEOC was a distressing experience and I no longer view them as a resource for myself nor would I recommend to anyone in need.

No way to make appointment online. Everything booked , then they keep sending you as email stating 'you better make appointment to file or you miss your date to do so'. As-if I have time now that I am wrongfully unemployed. Useless agency should be removed from our tax burden, bunch free loaders who do not do anything.

I think my investigator was Brandon. It's been a while, he was downright belligerent. Total disrespec, I need his job. Eeoc is useless for individuals. Eeoc wants class action lawsuits to make them look good. And continue to be funded. Otherwise they're not helpful.

They have no accountability to the people who come to them for assistance. They hold your case until their investigation timelimit expires, then send you a letter saying they can't find any violations. They give you a right-to-sue letter, but give you only 90-days to find an attorney. Wow!

People should be outraged and protest because OUR TAX DOLLARS are paying these state agencies to help us, but instead they sip coffee, put you on hold for an hour, and have potlucks. Amazing!
