DAFS is a domestic violence shelter. There’s only two staff who actually cared. The director and some of the workers would be mean to the people with opposite skin colors. Not give children clean clothes or food. There’s no hot water in the facility or air conditioning that works. Then they expect you to feed your dog outside in 100 degree weather. I have them recorded they were going to send my belongings I left accidentally I recorded the main person in charge promising to mail my information but instead just on some creeperness trying to get my address when they gave away my belongings after the first two weeks. Shame on you for the lies and corruption. The people who run the facility is nothing but racist evil beings. The people who help run the organization is true genuine people it’s a shame you have people like them running this place because I know the people on the board genuinely want to help. I truly hope you fire new staff before you have a lawsuit on your hands.

United way put up a link to help people with their bills during the COVID-19 Pandemic. I applied for this assistance due to the fact that my unemployment is held up because it is an situation of them implementing my circumstance next month which is delaying my claim to be processed. So basically I let them know that I have no income during these times and sent in every document that they requested. They denied my application immediately after I called to check the status of it. And directed me to other agencies and even gave the phone #s to them. In which, one in not even open due to COVID-19.

My question is...What situation do you really have to be in for them to help you?

The United Way in Hattiesburg is one of the places where you can always go for information and many times a solution! Their staff are very hardworking and caring people and do a great job of making sure all of the money they earn through fundraising is spent responsibly and how donors intend. Hattiesburg is fortunate to have a quality United Way that represents its community so well.

I find it very odd that this foundation dosent help anyone directly. Anytime that you call this establishment, they direct u to other establishments like Christian Services and ect... I have donated to United Way through my employer for many years but im not anymore. When I turn to them for help, they only direct me elsewhere. This is so disappointing.
