SO...I guess I will first say... That I consider myself a person that has done some really cool things. And I say that, so I can say this... The class I took with Jodi Trendler at The Resiliency Institute on 'edible herbs' was one of the coolest activities I have EVER done. I found it truly fascinating. We spent a few hours walking around the grounds of their farm and learning how to identify and pick common herbs, vegetables, and fruits that are literally growing in everyone's back yard. Then we went back into the classroom and took all of our collections and made some of the MOST TASTY food you could ever imagine. I feel like this should be a required class for EVERY HUMAN ON EARTH. I just can't express how pivotal this class was in shaping how I view the outdoors. I give it ten thumbs up!!

Michelle & the individuals who put on Fermentation Fest,

I had a good time at the event. There was a nice vibe during the event - from the non-alcoholic hour to the opening comments and beers/food.

The individual playing the guitar was very good. The food was unique and awesome. The fermenting beverages were interesting as well. It was nice to have a small environment and get a chance for conversations with the people making the beers and mead.

I also give you a thumbs up for bringing together 2 different worlds - the beer world (which I am part of) and the Resiliency Institute world. I met at least 4 people who came to the event because of the "RI". That was a bit surprising for me, but it offered a chance to learn how they were linked to the "RI" (Class, email list, instructor, etc.) and also a chance for me to share some beer knowledge - other local breweries, events, etc.

Great job.

P.S. I am a big fan of Scratch Brewing and hope you can secure something from them again next year. 🙂

Offerings here are AMAZING. The school goes above and beyond teaching about plants: they show you how to build relationships with the natural world. Used to be naturalist is now in a deep love affair with the seasons and cycles of our bioregion. Folks around me are eating healthy with perennial food systems, and feeling good on herbal remedies.
Chicagoland/Midwest is so lucky to have this Institute! Highly recommend taking any/all classes here.

Phenomenal group of people working to reconnect individuals and communities with nature. So happy to know them and work with them. Their classes are amazing - start by checking out their free forest bathing once a month. Other classes include the WILD woman project circle, forest yoga, attune your senses, wild edibles, herbalism, and permaculture.
