I would never recommend SIREN to anyone for anything. My kids were born in Charlotte, Michigan and I could never get help when we were losing housing six years ago.

Their standard excuse was they have no funds for motel vouchers or they are full. It’s interesting to note, they love housing out-of-state individuals. They must get a kickback from it. When I confronted them they denied it, of course. One time, I called for six months every day, only to be told you’re not homeless yet we can’t help you. They are the ones that told me to call every day. They fully knew my situation.

When I was living in my car (2022), my Peckham caseworker talked to Caleb. He said to send me down and they could house me. Well, when I went there that wasn’t what he told me. I received the same standard answer.

Do you know this non-profit has been under investigation for embezzling? No wonder they couldn’t help anyone. Sounds like some of the staff were dipping into the funds.

I would like to point out also in 2022, the SIREN director allegedly fast tracked his nephew into housing that was also in the Peckham I-EARN program with me.

When I went for food they made fun of me and acted like I had leprosy. During a court hearing years ago, a “caseworker “ said I needed to schedule an appointment back at her office on how to act. Excuse me for accidentally coughing in court. I’d like to add this was the same lady that reprimanded me because she said I talked too much during the support group. The support group was tied to the case, so I went. Too bad their own facilitator defaulted to me to help with the group.

I reached out earlier this year, against my better judgment, because my former landlord partners with them to get people into housing. He was trying to keep me in my apartment. I got the same runaround. I wasn’t homeless yet, so they couldn’t help.

I would seriously think about if you’re considering going to this non- profit for help. It’s completely useless. Also, if you are someone looking to support a local non- profit, I would not recommend this one! Your monies are most likely NOT going to those in need.

I further suspect the organization’s high ratings on Facebook are attributed to its own employees or supporters writing false positive reviews.

I can never tell who's happy to assist anyone with anything, it's a great thing to do is help people but most of the staff don't like it. It's inconvenience to them and frankly a waste of my time. There's so many loops and hills and turns to hurtle before getting help. The clothing room is great but it's very limited UNLESS your in housing(with they never have no matter your situation) it's sad to be turned away. I was turned away and told them I've been very sick and no home and no empathy or compassion was even thrown my way. Idk how to feel about this place honestly. Oh and they don't work with anyone to help even get u on ur feet or help with anything to get a place. I've been threw so much and I hopeful think siren will be there for me but still yet to come. Now no wait list it's FCFS basis now and how is ppl supposed to call or come in if we are at our lowest? No car/money/ shelter or even a phone to do so ect... so needless sirens good for clothes if needed and u get 15 mins max to hurry n find something. Idk 🤷‍♀️

I had a great experience with Caleb who was compassionate and was extremely helpful.

Since then, it’s been a horrible, non helpful experience not only for myself but others in a crisis. Karie or however she spells her name has lied multiple times, and Ben when I had someone call on my behalf. She is not there and o help anyone and you can tell by her demeanor and the way she talks to people. The other female staff seem to feed off of her and follow her example.

This is a place that people should feel comfortable coming to, asking for help, even in whatever crisis they are in. They look for ways to add people to their “do not rent” list more than they do actually helping someone. I can’t tell you how many people have said the exact same thing. These ladies lie, and their only offering is to give you a list of outside and out of town shelters which if people had the means to go out of town, they can get this info without going through the embarrassment that is caused by this place. Based on the experience after Caleb helped me, I’d give this place zero stars.

My fiance and I both used siren thinking it was the best bet. At first they were pretty good, helped with alot moved us into an apartment pretty quickly and then moved us to a home.

After that it went down hill. They said we made too much, the property was INFESTED. bed bugs were all up in my daughters pack and play I sent them proof they sent someone "to come look at it" he barely moved anything and called us liars. Mice were also in the home and they kicked us out after 12 hour notice. At the time my daughter was only 6 months old.

We are living out of our car, siren also shared our info with a couple old co workers and maybe others. Its a joke I wouldn't recommend any of their services to anyone

my experience at Siren has been one of compassion, respect, and encouragement. this safety net is so important in our communities for those of us who have hit rock bottom. I am a survivor of long term domestic violence who has lost everything as a result of it. Siren has helped me to see a little bit of light down the long tunnel of recovery. Thank you

I would give 0 stars, negative stars. the director blatantly said "it's our discretion who we help, and we don't want to help you". we have been living in a car for a month and don't do anything to cause trouble. this director is a waste of human parts and should be ashamed of herself for being in her field of work

Extremeeelly nice people, if they cant help they typically have recommendations for people who can. Would 100% recommend them. 10/10 staff
