My daughter played school volleyball for 9 years and travel volleyball for 7 years, 4 of those travel years with Phoenix Rising. COVID restrictions closing certain local gyms meant that we had to travel an hour and 20 minutes one way to practice twice weekly to be a part of Phoenix, but that’s just a small part of what the Phoenix family meant to us. Abigail tried out for and was offered a spot on more than one team, during that first COVID year. However, she said that she felt something different with the Phoenix Rising coaches and players. Even though she didn’t know them and had never played on a team with those girls, she didn’t feel like an outsider. They welcomed her; and it didn’t feel like a clique. Further, she said that the coaches were very knowledgeable. She felt that they would hold her accountable and have high team expectations.
My family and I found the coaches to be very responsive. Abigail’s coach told the girls where to be, when to be there, and what to tell the parents. The parents barely had to think. We weren’t given a chance to be concerned as most of our questions were answered in advance by the dedicated Phoenix staff’s many years of experience.
Abigail has just started her second year of college. She plays volleyball there, too. That wouldn’t have been possible without the tireless efforts of the “not so behind the scenes” people at PR. If you’re reading this review, ask the clubs that you’re researching what they’ll do for your child if they want to play at the collegiate level, and ask for past results. Ask if they have a backup plan.
Every club, every family, every coach, every group is different. We all have different needs, but the Phoenix Rising Volleyball Club met us in our season of need and fulfilled our needs and more. Abigail will never forget Coach K telling her that she believed in, “Meeting people wherever they are.”
Phoenix Rising may not be the club for you, and that’s okay, but find one that makes your daughter rise up and believe in herself like never before!

Signed up and payed for tryouts at the Holly Springs location only to receive an email a week later letting me know they are relocating to Atlanta! Over 50 minutes from us. Talked to others who had the same experience.

My daughter has been affiliated with this club for 4 years. Her skills and overall drive have improved in that time significantly. I highly recommend Phoenix Rising to anyone looking for a competent, professional and family-friendly facility!

Not recommended for any type of club event. The facility is to small. Parking is extremely limited. Space inside is very limited. Staff are nice but they did not enforce rules (example: parents of kids who are not playing should wait outside until it’s the teams turn to play)

If the owner and coach "like" your kid, it may be fine, but if they do not, there is no chance for communication and/or change. When adults behave more immaturely and treat certain children with malice and exclusivity, that is not a healthy environment for girls, even if your child is one that they "like".

Stay far away from this club!!! If I could turn back time, and knew what I know now, I would’ve never allowed my daughter to play here. The owner is not a nice person and the coaches are sub-par as they couldn’t keep the good ones. There are plenty of great clubs but this isn’t one of them. Don’t waste your money or your daughters time. You only get one chance to get it right.

We love Phoenix! Our daughter has played here for 5 years and each year just gets better and better! Phoenix now has their own facility. The complaints about a dirty warehouse and unsafe conditions are false. The owner of the building replaced the roof and the facility is fabulous! If you are looking for a club with actual morals and ethics, this is the club for you. A great family environment and a staff that truly cares for the players. You can’t blame any sports club for trying to deal with Covid. We received a credit for next club season and are very happy!

We have been fortunate to been part of the Rise of the Phoenix club for past 4 years.
I give my daughter options each year to tryout anywhere else and her answer is always "No Way Phoenix is Home"!
The coaching staff is Spectacular, the facility is superb. Extra training sessions are always available. The parents are all great! You can see and feel the energy & excitement these kids have just at practice! If you just looking for any GREAT club and Volleyball home with great coaching,parents and kids then I would Highly recommend Phoenix Rising Volleyball Club ?
