People really think getting my own apartment is going to fix everything... no, not at all... Not even close. It is great to have my own apartment and I like the idea and all but will it fix the problems? No, it will not.

Even discharging the waiver will not fix the issues...

Because even in my own apartment, people are still going to continue treating me the way everyone is currently.

What am I going to do to fix the problem? If everyone really wants to know then fine:

1.) get a job

2.) hire an attorney

3.) take it into court to obtain a court order to close out the IDD developmental case

That is not a question IF it's going to get done or not. The question would be WHEN is it going to get it done? Unfortunately, I don't have a timeframe

That is why I said discharging the waiver by itself is not going to do anything for the following reasons:

1.) The resources would still be available to the individual but very limited to a certain extent I would supposed which means people will still be around to continue treating me the same way. For instance, the ARC, ODP, the County, etc...

2.) In order to get the waiver back then one can either appeal or they can apply again and get placed on a waiting list so no matter how we look at it, the person is still in the system

That is why I said hire an attorney because once it's done then it's done. A person cannot go back in time and have the case reopened.

The individual would need to show supporting documentation. I believe my current age is pass the age onset that the State would be looking for to make a determination. Bureau of Determinations is the department who initially gets everything rolling.

So, back to the main point - it is a regulation issue but that is ONLY "PART" of the Issue. The other "PART" is how people in the entire system are going to continue treating me the way everyone is currently. It's clear it's not going to stop even in my own apartment

I believe Robert V. Davison in Kingston, PA represents these cases.

Giving me runarounds, not taking no as an answer, making things up about me, saying I am mad at everything, are "SOME" of those things.

For instance with the closure of the IDD case - that doesn't mean to send me over to talk with x, y, and z then nothing is getting done. I am not as stupid...

Closing the case doesn't mean a discharge of the waiver. Closing the case doesn't mean talk to the SC or to the County or whoever else. It doesn't mean go to court either. Why court? Again because of slavery and people are NOT taking no for an answer. So, with a court order then ODP has to comply with the closure request.

A person can simply get discharged from the waiver or even does not renew the CAO application and they are still in the system.

If the case is permanently closed out then ALL State funding services are discharged as well.

I gave a name for one attorney. I am not sure if he practices in litigation or not nor do I want to know/need to know. One of many of the areas he currently practices in or "used" to practice in is fighting in court to change the State Ward Status (hence closing out the developmental case). So, if I know an attorney who can represent cases like this then I know for a fact I am going to make this happen.

I personally would stay away. Clients houses do not have supplies needed which offices know about so workers are left to wipe clients with ROUGH paper towels. Imagine that & they know about it! SUPERVISORS come in to get there hours and sit on their phone and talk to family and friends but will criticize every single thing YOU do while on the clock & help the client not once. This company also normalizes individuals to touch you inappropriately and just deal with it. I 100 percent understand the client doesn’t know better but the company knows better and NORMALIZES this! It’s not about the clients , it’s about the money if that’s what you’re here for , go for it!

STAY AWAY!!!! The pay is higher than others cause they really want you to look the other way on a lot of issues. There are some very poor house managers that are neglectful and don't care about the safety of the individuals. There are hard working people in this company and than others that just don't care and only there for a pay check.
I was really hoping this would have been a great career and something I would look forward to going to everyday. It's just hard to go to a company that doesn't at all practice what they preach.
The owners really need to go through and roll heads but they don't even have the time to talk directly to you in person. The individuals can be sometimes difficult and challenging to help but these horrible practices from higher ups that give this company a bad name. Do Better for the individuals and stop sweeping problems under the rug! This type of behavior has been going on for years and I can only hope someday the state does something about it. I also called them after leaving if I could have proof of my completed CPR training certificate. They said no we paid for your training so tough luck. I simply called the Red Cross and they helped me out by emailing me a copy and said that P.D.S is not right for holding that info from me. Yea!! Red Cross and Booo!! P.D.S

After I told my clients Support coordinator about NO food in the house for him after a supervisor refused to get it and tried to make me and my unsteady client go grocery shopping…. I got written up about 2 times right after! I also had pictures of EMPTY cabinets and refrigerator for 2 individuals…. After those pictures were taken they started to make sure food was in the house . VERY POORLY MANAGED COMPANY! With airheads in the office and airheads for directors! Very disgusted with this company if you just want a job for money cool but if you want to be valued and respected ? DONT WORK HERE 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

If you are looking for a workplace that value your contributions, drives your passion to help people with IDD, autism who also deserve a chance to live an integrated community life, participate in community growth, become independent and experience a full filing life... while growing and developing in your career; you have the passion to change life, balancing between that (work) and family... then PDS is not/never the right place for you.

Very poor culture... little pay time off accumulation compared to how long you have worked, you get tossed around despite a designated assign home or unite, in the case of an emergency you can't call off even if you can, the search for coverage must be done by you (which means if you don't or can't find anyone you have to cover the shift regardless of the circumstances). You also get written up if you don't show up say because someone under your care (child, husband etc.) fell sick and you rushed to the ER, medical record privacy gets infringed (violated) because they would require you to submit such report from the hospital* - that was done to me for the same situation, working here will get you so frustrated to the level you couldn't imagine.

Nepotism is rampant especially with the lower level of management, you get pulled over to another house with a different individual from your designated house at anytime and replaced you with someone else! and no support or proper information on the new assigned working house. If you have never experienced depression before then don't risk it, that's the reason why they use the higher pay rate ($19.50) than other companies in this industry as a baite to pull workers but in turn consume all the energy in them until they are left lifeless, and a frustrated family.
