We came to Glenwood for a bachelorette trip weekend. We opted for the spa weekend, but still wanted to go out and have a night at the bars. We got recommended to Native Son by a few people and decided to give it a try. The atmosphere when we first arrived was very mellow with a DJ. The drinks were very boujee and were poured worth their price. When men began to hit on the large group of girls, the staff approached and advised us to give them a sign if we needed it to be left alone by the guys. We later found out the staff member was the owner and he ensured our safety and enjoyment for the night. Very much appreciated it as out of towners.

I could see this being an okay spot to do some drinking, if that's what you're looking for.

We came for a late dinner when most of the other restaurants were already closed. The food was pretty bad, and the service was friendly but not great.

We looked at a menu on google before hand that looked pretty good, but were bummed when we got there and realized that it was not a current menu that we saw.

The tacos were basic and expensive.
The steak chimichurri bowl was also expensive for what you get. The steak was so tough it was almost inedible. The rice and beans were okay, but for the cost it was disappointing. The papas bravas were soggy and boring. The guac was dressed up, but flavor was off. Salsa was okay but not great.

The tres leches cake was excellent!

Overall, I would find something else if you are looking for a good meal. This is more of a bar than a restaurant, and too expensive for what is being served.

Great quick and tasteful meals for our family. We’re time constrained for our next stop and the server was extremely helpful and attentive. The chicken was delicious with a great kick of fresh condiments but my favorite was the Mac and cheese. Also I enjoyed the butternut squash mashed. The ribs were delightful. And the local beers were good.

Great night at Native Son’s tonight! Went for an after dinner cocktail and really enjoyed our time hanging out with Brandi! She was incredibly welcome, created a great atmosphere for the bar and makes a mean Hot Apple Cider Sangria! Definitely recommend for anyone looking for a fun night out in Glenwood!

Looking for a late night dinner and drinks after the hot springs? This is the place. It’s all gluten free and tastes fantastic! Drinks were on point, and had a nice chill vibe of people hanging out and playing pool.

We’ll be back the next time we visit!

Was looking for dinner at 930 pm following a trip to the hot springs and chose Native Son after reading positive reviews. Parked on the street easily. Sat at the bar, prompt service. Ordered shrimp tacos (3) and vegetarian croquetas. Both meals were excellent and very reasonably priced. The food was both better in quality and far less expensive than the meal we had in Aspen this week. The vibe is just a bar on karaoke night but the food is what would bring me back. Highly recommend.
