I truly appreciate the work that shelters do to help animals find their forever homes, which is why I'm reluctant to leave a negative review. Unfortunately, my experience with the staff here left much to be desired. I visited with the hope of meeting some cats, particularly an elderly one.

Upon entering, my younger sister and I felt uncomfortable immediately, receiving odd looks from the staff. I wondered if it was because they thought we’d waist their time— I look a lot younger than I am. When I inquired about available pets, the staff exchanged glances and even laughed, which heightened our discomfort.

I considered leaving, I mentioned that we could return another time. This was met with an awkward silence until finally, someone reluctantly offered to give us a tour. After seeing the animals, I asked if there were any older cats available. The staff member responded that they don’t select which pets come to the facility.

Overall, this was the most disappointing experience I’ve ever had at a shelter.

adopted my kitten from them about a month ago and they managed to make the process quick while still ensuring their animals are going to good caring homes. their adoption fees are the cheapest i’ve been able to find and they even sent him home with his original bed and some treats. he was already fixed and vaccinated under the shelters care, so it was super easy to transition him to my apartment building and to a new vet. the shelter got him use to claw trimming and litter box trained so he has given me no trouble with either of those things. they set us up for success and my kitten could not be doing better and i will certainly be going back next year when i get a bigger home and can take on a second cat
