I'm a mother of one of the patients who's son caught covid there because one of the patients who had covid was walking around in building 3. He was downgraded to a 2.5 Thursday an allowed at the cabins and wad post to come off quarantine Monday but instead they gave him a medicaid cab home. Now I think I've contracted covid but the Life Center told him he was not contagious on Monday but that the virus could be in his system for up to 30 days. On top that they were making him ride with other patients who had the flu to get his suboxone. This place is flawed majority an needs some improvements. Where's the care for the $1300 their charging his insurance a day to stay there if their just going to mistreat him when he gets covid an then send him home to his 63 year old mother. They weren't bringing him his meals on time. He had to go to the nurses station every night and morning except on the first night when he had a fever. All the other patients treated him like an infection at didn't want to be around him. The techs wouldn't make his coffee an bring it to his room. Every time he came to the tech station while he had covid was because the techs weren't doing their job. Now they sent him home. If your a lawyer I need your help cause I think I may be ill from the flu or covid since they sent him hom for leaving his room and going to the cottages if though he wad a 2.5 and was pose to be moved to the cottages Sunday but the nursing staff wasn't doing there job, if your a lawyer please reply

Its a great place to detox and start getting healthy again. But after a couple of weeks you reach a point of diminishing returns where continued stay brings less and less benefit. Security is ineffective causing a jail-like environment. There is no physician but a psychiatrist is available by video. Medical care is slow. The staff are underpaid compared to other facilities in other states. You're stuck here for 60 days unless you have your own transportation as insurance companies tend to only pay for rides home if you complete the 60 day program. There's a lack of bed space. However, im still sober so the program was successful in spite of itself.

A lot of the negative reviews on here are from disgruntled patients still demonstrating addictive behavior, by blaming everyone for their issues but themselves. I work here.. we Don't allow Covid patients in the cafeteria they are quarantined. Most patients that are upset with us is because they failed to adhere to the programs requirements and/or brought things into the facility that would harm other patients. We don't give alcoholics methadone that's absurd. I'm really not sure where people get their information from, but I can guarantee the addict that gets kicked out for not trying to improve themselves goes home and tells everything else but what they did. Then they post reviews like this on line to "get back" at us. It's a cycle... Life Center saves a lot of lives daily, let's not take away from that.

I will never know the truth. My son was asked to leave. He says he was wrongly accused of having phentynol in his system. He says actually several people tested false positive but he was singled out. Patients who are asked to leave are dropped off at the Greyhound bus station, however, don't count on being given the correct address ( 5740 E Lee Hwy) in case you need a Lyft to pick you up. Life Center will tell you it's 5722 E Lee Hwy. I believe the Life Center of Hillsville is merely a symptom of the low priority and lack of commitment that this country has in terms of what it really takes to deal with our opiod/mental health crisis. Adding insult to injury, too many people are in the field just to receive a paycheck. I agree with those reviewers who said it's extremely difficult to get anyone on the phone, even during normal business hours. Very sad.

Galax is filthy holes in the walls dirt and grime behind the bathroom doors. Idk how they keep getting away with endangering peoples lives if it wasn’t for a new nurse tech I would have died there. An alcoholic checked in and they gave him methadone and he overdosed. They allow the Covid patients to enter the cafeteria without a mask or gloves and touching everything. Someone needs to shut that place down!

Stay away from this place as well as the life center of galax! They hoard addicts in hundreds into their facility and put them on high doses of methadone while making sure they make it impossible for any family to reach their loved ones. After contacting the local police, rey even replied that both of these treatment centers have a horrible reputation and they are constantly contacted due to situations occuring on the grounds as well as family trying to find out if their loved ones are safe because staff literally never answers the phone or returns calls. There have been overdoses due to ignorance of dosage as well. Please steer clear! Absolutely disgusting.

My husband is here right now. Staff hardly answers the phones, and when they do, they are rude. My husband says they are lazy and the program is awful. The facility has taken his clothes and other personal belongings, and now are telling him that he doesn't have anything in his property. DO NOT send your family here!!

Hillsville is designed to do what does. If you want a resort...go to Betty Ford!
