Would not recommend. Refused to return my dog even though the person who illegally gave her away was charged by the police in the matter. Had to drive six hours EACH WAY to pick her up almost a week later when I was LOCAL to the location that day I called. She told me she couldn't give me my OWN dog because it was the weekend. I called repeatedly on Friday and there was no answer!
And I had a COURT ORDER and she REFUSED to accept it via email or text. I offered to pay and she ALSO refused.
HORRIBLE customer service and my dog was/is still traumatized staying there. I had to take time off work to repair the mental damage this "shelter" did to my poor dog. My dog has been trying to recover from this awful place.

They truly care about the animals and their welfare. I could not recommend enough to adopt your next doggo from here. If you can’t adopt, at least donate.

We adopted a sweet adorable pup from here just the other day and we’re thrilled. You could tell by the way the dogs acted that they’re well taken care of and loved by the staff. All her shots and everything a puppy needs were up to date and documented. They even gave us some of her food and flea/tick/heartworm chew for a head start until we get that going. Oh and her favorite toy. Also, the application and approval process was very quick and we were able to meet her/pick her up the next day. So happy with how everything went! ❤️

Google assumes that I visited Friends. Friends shares a driveway with the county convenience center which is where I actually visited. So this is evidence that Google's AI might be questionable.
I can say that Friends is making improvements to what already looks like a very nice facility.
I have adopted several pets over the course of my lifetime and have found the best companionship and you should consider adopting. It's worth it.

The shelter is open by appointment, Mon-Thur-Sat 11-3. Loving volunteers caring for needy pets until they find their furever home. They need foster homes!

This place was amazing! Staff was knowledgeable and friendly. Although we did not get to take our kitties home the 1st day we went, I was glad that they did a background check (to make sure they are not adopting animals out to people with histories of animal abuse, etc.) and called our vet/s to make sure that we are good clients/ pet owners (bringing them in whenever necessary). When all was said & done, we ended up with 4 (yes FOUR) new kitties! 😸 We were VERY VERY happy! Also, you don't have to adopt to help! They are a non-profit & rely on donations, so please check out their website!!!

This shelter is truly run by the most wonderful people in our County. The volunteers are unbelievably caring and selfless and I'm so grateful for the work they do, all for the love of animals ❤️

We met Jayden at the AWL in kilmarnock and went straight to the shelter to put an application in for him. He is doing great with our other adopted dog Belle.
