Great place in Tallahassee, being From South Florida, this place is a little piece of Miami in Northern Florida. Bartender Alexus was great. She made the best drinks. I came to Tallahassee for a one day business trip, and she made it worth it. I was born in Peru and the Lomo Saltado is on point. Highly recommend Flamingo a Taste of Miami.

UPDATED REVIEW!

I was there a few weeks ago and the service was terrible. I waited literally fifteen minutes for WATER. Yes I remembered what time I asked for water and i had to ask for it three times. And I had to go myself to the bar and ask for water and to my surprise- thinking it was packed, it was completely EMPTY. Yes.. EMPTY.... the only person inside was the bartender.
only four tables were occupied outside. And it took long just to get a togo box and I heard other complaining as well. I don't remember the last time I've been that upset I legit almost walked out without paying because of how long it took just to get a bag and box, And i would never do something like that.
It's a shame, the place has great potential, great branding, all the right stuff but no quality.

First review from months ago: (5stars) I enjoyed the taste of the food, I enjoyed the indoor and outdoor options for seating. I loved the flamingo cups and lights. The service was good. The decor on the inside was pretty cool too. The specialty drinks were really good. Overall I enjoyed the time there.

So the day after I did this review, an F2 tornado tore up the city. But this is one of the places that was blessed to be untouched when everything around was ripped apart, so we decided to go back since we had such a good time that night before and, low and behold, everything has doubled in prices. Why would you do that when people are looking for fun at such a delicate time. We were all sadden by this and just left.🤔😑🙄🤯

Now, let me tell you when I say, I was sleeping on this spot. I knew it was a bar, but I didn't think it was my type of atmosphere. Wrong. I had so much fun. The waitresses are wonderful. The food was smackin. Now I was told the name of this spot is "Itz Smackin," but it came up under another. When I say I had the best cooked calamari in Tallahassee here. The food was so good, we tipped the cook as well as waitresses. We had a blast. I think the drinks helped us out, too.😳☺️😁🫣

My husband and I came here for my birthday. We wanted to try something new to celebrate but quickly found out that this place is not for anyone 30+. The host was perfect as we got seated right away. However, it took over 15 mins before we were greeted by our server. She was a very nice young lady, but moved slowly. The food was just ok.. almost everything was fried, and there were no side vegetables outside of Plantains, which to me is a carbohydrate. The area was beautiful and sadly, the only thing outside of the really high drink prices that gave Miami vibes. I ordered a $30 drink and they were out of the cups which I'm sure drove the price for the drink up. I lived there for 5 years, and I think this place was trying to replica lil Haiti. I'm more of a Brickell and South Beach woman, so I'm used to sushi, seafood, and steak.. there were limited opinions for these items. I think it's fine for college students but not anyone older.

We went on a Wednesday night so not too crowded. The decor was cute. Our server Jackie was super sweet and had great customer service. We ordered the Hennessy wings and they were amazing!! So tasty and the right balance of spices. We also ordered the lemon pepper wings, they were good just a little salty. We ordered a variety of cocktails. They hit the spot. The bathroom was clean and that was a plus. We will return.
