I recently moved to the area, and had some issues with my benefits. The staff here were able to work it out and help me get things back to normal. I am very pleased with the service my husband and I received at this location. Quick word of advice, you really need to go into the office because the phone doesn't go directly to this location. The staff here were very helpful and friendly.

My friends, I know it's hard to get a hold of them through the phone, and I know that you may not have the best arrangements for getting around, but it behooves you to take the time to go up there and speak to somebody in person.

Things almost always happen better for you if you are kind while talking to the workers. Additionally, if you're having a hard time with somebody that works there, gently request that you be able to talk to a supervisor. Don't yell at the person at the desk, just be kind the whole time and if you're not getting anywhere, ask for supervisor 🙂

You got this. The world is hard, but this service will provide for you.

Melissa was very disrespectful. She flirted with my man and made him feel uncomfortable. She gave him Her personal number, and told him to call her personal number. He told her no and he did not take her number and then she flirted and she was flirtatiously saying his first and middle name. I found this very disrespectful especially when he felt uncomfortable it would be different if my man engaged with her back, but he did not.

I called, and left a message.....My name, phone number and what I was calling about. After I explained, briefly what I needed, I then left my name and number again. NOT to my surprise I received a phone call back by a very nice lady that explained everything before I could say a word other than who I was. She had researched my inquiry and called prepared to explain my situation.
I will say the phone call came two days later, after the original call. But what can you expect with the number of people that they need to help. They do their best in this office, which I cannot say that for the other offices I have dealt with in the past.
Good luck, and remember the people in the DHS office WANT to help you, even though it may not feel like it sometimes.

Absolutely ridiculous!!! Yea its nice that we can get help when we need it but damn, they need to get better people in here to get the job done and done correctly. Not only do they NEVER EVER answer the phone, they also do not return phone calls and they messed up and never processed my redetermination. I had to actually go into the office after calling and leaving messages for 2 weeks to have them pull up my case and see. It was never processed. I have,been,calling again all week since it has been 2 weeks and still nothing!!! We are a family of 7 on 1 income with no groceries or money to buy groceries!!! Get off you butts and do your job or hire in more damn help!

For 2 months I've been trying to contact someone in that office. PHONES ARE NEVER ANSWERED! I've left my phone on hold for over an hour 3 different times and no one would pick up. I'm currently on hold right now.

They do not answer their phones!! It doesn’t even go to a voicemail to leave a message so that tells me they take them off the hook or shut them off.

I’ve been trying for days to get a hold of someone. And simply cannot. I can’t drive over for another few weeks by which time my problem will be a moot point.

This place is so aggravating. I understand they are busy but so are all the other businesses but they answer their phones or at least have an answering machine!

If it was possible to give negative stars, I would. These people NEVER answer the phones and they NEVER call back. I always have to call the Taylorville office to get any help. The Taylorville/Christian County Office is efficient. This place is not. I drove someone there one time when I did not need assistance. I was just the driver and literally every employee in there acted like they were better than anybody in there. It’s a disgrace actually.
