First of all, I'm Deaf. I requested for a sign language interpreter last Friday for today's Sunday's 230pm beginners meeting. I got there, no sign language interpreter. Maybe it's because I requested it late Friday night and the AA interpreter office is closed over the weekend? Who knows?

It was my 1st AA meeting too. *BUT* this super nice lady who's a member there for over a year, let's call her "A", sat next to me and we both used the NOTEPAD app on our phones which helped ALOT as "A" was letting me know what was going on and asking me questions related to AA. She was *GREAT!!!* She even got me the Big Book and the 12 Steps book as knowing where to get them because I was a newbie 1st timer there and Deaf and all. THANK GOD for "A"! Bless her kind and gentle soul!

I will request a sign language interpreter wayyyy advance in time like tonight for next Sunday. That should give them ample time to arrange an interpreter. Hopefully!!! Fingers crossed!

Overall from looks alone, it looked like a great great meeting! Very very spiritual. The proctor there Shane Samples welcomed me very warmly and even approached me from the front as I was sitting way way in the back! Hugged me too. Nice guy.

Thank you to those who helped me and there was more than 4 people who helped me today. *THANK YOU* everyone!!!!

See you next time!

Sober vibes!

I walked into a meeting on October 2nd, 1991, and people loved me until I learned to love myself. I went back to school, started a teaching career, coaching and teaching for 31 years, still sober since that night in 1991. We are living in the age of miracles, thank you Club 12 on Thames.

Great place to go if your lost and need help, meetings all thru out the day everyday. Have been to many meetings all different times of the day but if you wanna get something off your chest I would avoid the Friday 5:30pm meeting you won't have a voice. Other than that time and day overall great place

Great place to go for both AA and
Al-anon family meetings. They have both AA and Al-Anon meetings 7 days a week and all day from 7am until 10pm here. This place also has a special family group on Wed nights for both AA and Al-anon combined that discusses topics relating to both AA and Al-Anon members.
