The workers here are rude. Kathleen thank god she left. My mom package was delivered accidentally and the woman stole her package then to tell my elderly mom not go there to get her mail nor her package! Ashley is very unprofessional as well as Jack E! But yet people have to comply. Dchd

I have been a client at Centerboard since September 10. Until last week I was with the Lynn office.
In seven weeks I had met with my worker Danasia TWICE. We were supposed to meet once a week according to her as well as Centerboard Salem which I have been transferred to this week.
Over the course of my short time spent there I asked her to look over my housing application online. After making me feel stupid for even asking, she never took a look to make sure I had all of the proper documentation. She asked “what am I supposed to be looking at?”.
When I asked her to “sign me up for Homebase” (which is a program that helps you pay rent for a short amount of time) she mocked me, told me to find an apartment, I’ll get approved and gave me no additional rental information as if I am supposed to know what that means.
I am not a case manager for a housing program so I am unaware of the process for much. I got 0 help from this women and wasted almost two months. This program is allegedly nine months long with a possible extension or two. Time is ticking.
The Lynn house I had been placed in was infested with cockroaches. She said they sprayed after my initial complaint. The other family in the apartment I was residing at wasn’t aware of the “extermination”. That morning. The woman is pregnant and has two small children and had no plan to be out of the hours for that extended period of time. The fumes from the spray alone is dangerous if ingested aside from the bugs crawling in every crevice.
Bathroom. Hallway. Bedroom. Even in the bins I had my food in that is now tossed. 250$ in food stamps, gone.
I had seen at least fourteen roaches both dead and alive including on my bed, the bathroom counters, living room etc. I have pictures of everything and have sent them to multiple state officials.
The first business day, after I witnessed the roach casually crawling along my bed (Friday 10pm) I showed up to the office as soon as they opened. The Tuesday after the Colombus Day. She had the audacity to tell me not to show up without calling. Lol ok. I asked to be moved. I called the state representatives office for guidance as well as a voice if mine wasn’t heard. It took ten days. Fine. I get it. They expected me in live in that until I was possibly transferred. Offered new beds so they wouldn’t have to move me. What are “new beds” going to do besides waste beds for other people and dissipate peace of mind?
The day I was finally being moved she assumed I was at the unit. Ok. But she acted like she wasn’t aware of my son and I on the street again. Suffering like we had all summer. She said “it’s your unit you should be living there”. Her superiors were also aware I had slept in my car for seven nights on the street outside of the house and a hotel for three. They will not reimburse me for even one night and It was the money for my car payment.
They also knew we were showering at planet fitness. All while holding a shit job and driving my son an hour back and forth to school.
As if being homeless after a divorce isn’t bad enough, feeling belittled by a state worker is worse.
The board of health is already aware of the issue at 47 Mount Pleasant street, Lynn.MA. And now have my complaint as well.
I have since been moved to the Salem office and a better unit where I’ve gotten more help in four days than I have with her.
Danasia’s attitude toward me as client was cold hearted and unbothered. She doesn’t care about us and this review should speak volumes on the people who are supposed to care for us and help us move forward.

Most realest review longgg overdue the truth deserves to be seen , heard.
Theyre prioritizing ONLY minority’s or immigrants only getting help. Horrible for placing families in actual !homes! but if you want a motel or hotel foreverrr go right away that’s ALL you get with centerboard I promise you they’re just packing families in motels hotels and not helping them at all unless you’re an immigrate or minority. I Wish it could’ve given NO STARS. I’ve been in the shelter system under centerboard for exactly 1 year and 7 months. They’re “caseworkers” if you can even call them that are not helpful at allllllll. They have no qualifications for placing people. Some of theirselfs lookin for housing smfh . Good luck with them helping you with anything. Absolutely no housing help every meeting you get with ur caseworker you leave within 5 mins IF they don’t cancel on you lol centerboard “organization“ really is just a big joke. They get all these funds from state for HELPING FAMILIES but not doing that at all again if ur not a minority you’re not getting help that’s just the truth . Been here the longest and everyone here who has my caseworker aren’t moving smh wonder why.

Someone needs to actually HEAR the homeless families talking about centerboard cause they’re not helping no one actually and just packing up people in motels hotels not getting anyone actual housing.

Worst program I've ever witnessed ever. Packing people in hotels and motels not even doing anything for them. Then the people that do inspections are complete jokes. Most ignorant and rude people I have ever seen smash on your door to make you open it demand to do a ton of stuff for no reason, very very rude and very unprofessional

Some of your staff are not people friendly or don’t care about their jobs I guess , not helping or guiding people to help but instead making things harder than what they already are . You need people with empathy . This is a job to help people and put them on the right track any means . Your case workers or advocates aren’t doing all they can do nor going out of they’re way to send or provide what your clients need .You need to go over your mission again with your advocates or case workers. I don’t get it these are peoples lives that depend on you guys . It’s ridiculous. Until someone wants to make an example out of your staff for playing with their life like that ....

Not a good experience. They are suppose to help you. Instead cause you more stress by putting you in places that are no safe for children. Places were you worry for your family. Places that are not in livable conditions. Places that have bed bugs rats an more. I was placed in a shelter an the location an building were horrible. My kids are scared they cant even walk in from the school bus alone because the scary creepy people around. Then the first 2 weeks the whole place flooded an all our stuff was ruined an they didnt offer any help in replacing anything. The couch is moldy now. Nor did they try hard enough to help me find permanent housing. Hopefully i have found my own place an will be out of here asap. This has been a nightmare an being sent to these people just made it worse.
