I had the honor and privilege of working with Keisha Williams 8 years ago at Newington High School in Newington , CT I was a teachers aide for a 14 year old non verbal girl in a wheelchair with Rhetts Syndrome and Keisha was hired by the town to care for here personal care but if you know Keisha like I do as always she went over and above her duties
Keisha become part of the class not to single out the young lady with the disability she was sensitive to her social needs as well Her personal needs were outstanding she cared for this girl like she was her own child and with her being non verbal Keisha always thought outside the box and used sensory to stimulate her student and if their was any down time Keisha would pick up a book and read to the entire class
Keisha used the schools theory of inclusion to the max Miss Keisha as kids called her was part of our class
Sadly our student.passed and Keisha went on to another assignment I only wished I knew Keisha when my Dad had dementia I would have loved for him to have been treated with the dignity and respect that she gives everyone
I to this day am proud to call Keisha my friend
