Bear paddle is a great place. The reason I stayed here was due to her really good instructors. I think all of them are nice and kind to the children. I took off 1 star because in my opinion, one of the techniques they do in order to pass to the next level was holding my daughter back and she can swim, float, flip to breathe, back stroke. All important techniques, thanks to bear paddle, but my. Daughter wasn't getting 1 thing and I feel she was at level 4 too long. So we're the other girls in her group session. So I have to stop her lessons because she can't be there forever. But I do recommend this nurturing environment. Hannah is great, flexible, kind staff, but we may want to revisit some techniques that are not that crucial for life saving swim skills. Thanks.

My son started so scared. He wouldn't even put his head under water. Now he is flourishing and I could not be more proud. This is easily worth every penny. My son is now confident and eager to move to the next levels. Everyone that I have encountered from the front desk to the swimming instructors have been nothing but nice! I am really glad chose bear paddle!

I took my 2yo for lessons for a few months. Maybe it is just because the main goal of the beginners class is just to get the kids used to being in water - but that’s where it stops. There was really no lessons/structure from the instructor, or any feedback/next-steps. Just pay $130 a month to use their pool (which could use a good cleaning). Facilities were poorly maintained for how much you are spending. If you’re going - make sure to time your cancellation right; you have to pay for the month after you ask to stop lessons.

I’ve had luck with Park District courses in the past (less expensive and better classes), I would suggest going that route first.

This is a wonderful school. The instructors are great! The Swim Clinics are very helpful. My kids came in with no water experience. They now are very good swimmers.

My son started swimming at paddle bear about 6 months ago. I'm happy to say that he is a novice swimmer now. At paddle bear he practices swimming above and below water, back floating and diving in and pling himself out of the water. It's about $130 per month. If you miss a class you have 90 days to make it up. They don't answer the phone but if you leave a message someone will call you back. The staff is very friendly and I like the changing rooms and showers. I would recommend.

I have had my three children at Bear Paddle Orland Park since summer 2016, they came in with no swim experience ages 4,4 and 5. They started learning to swim by taking two summer camps, I would highly recommend this because they got to jump start quickly and after 4 weeks (2 camps) were able to swim. The instructors are all amazing, and no matter what time of day you make your lesson, they are energetic and helpful, and very patient. My kids loved going to lessons, and we feel much more at ease knowing they can swim. For this age, 30 min is plenty of time. It is also great that they use salt water, they get no rashes or eye irritations when they finish swimming. I would highly recommend Bear Paddle.
