A growing church with genuine biblical leadership, unashamed to preach and teach the Word and not just some feel-goodology. This church was a plant about 5+ years ago and has grown from location to location, currently in downtown Georgetown near the beautiful square while they continue on a journey to build a brand new building with abundant parking in southeast Georgetown near 130, great access to Inner Loop or Westinghouse or to North Round Rock.

Antioch has a great kids program and an amazing VBS called NXT offered in the summer.

Two services on Sundays.

Pastor Andy and Pastor Steven communicate very effectively and have a true passion to lead the congregation to Gods truth . The church feels most definitely true to the Bible . I’m not going to forget the rest of the staff that is also kind and very talented . ( just haven’t memorized their names) As you drive in from the parking team , security, and greeters , they are truly genuine . Our family is blessed to have been led to this church by Darrell Hudson ( a chaplain at St. David’s Georgetown at that time)who prayed over me after I recovered from a major abdominal surgery. Praise God . I lift this church and its congregation in the most high .

This is one of the most authentic, Bible-believing churches that my family and I have been a part of. We came to Antioch GT for respite and healing from having to leave our previous church which we were heavily involved in. Pastors Andy and Stephen made us feel welcome from the first time we walked in the door and cared for us like we had been long-time friends. Fast-forward nearly two years and we have grown spiritually under the teaching and worship at Antioch and have done a lot of healing. There is no pretense here, just a bunch of folks who love Jesus and care for people and wish to live more and more for God's kingdom through the power of Holy Spirit transformation. The teaching is thoughtful, entertaining, challenging and encouraging (not an easy task when preaching the gospel). The worship is Spirit led and authentic. The mission of the church is transparent and impactful and easy to lock arms with as a congregation. We are so thankful for Antioch!

The best church I have ever been to. They are truly preaching the Word, with boldness. Love that the first time I went here the pastor said hello and actually met us for a quick chat after. The next time my family and I came to church the pastor still remembered our names. In this church you will find the truth being told, you will have a family, and feel seen. So grateful for a church that is the light in these dark times.

We started going here a few months ago and we love it. The people here are so genuinely friendly and inviting. The worship music is great and I don't feel like the worship leader is performing but is actually worshipping. Andy is the head pastor and he's a great guy. He actually cares about the people in his church and his teaching is great. I really do like everything about this church. If you're looking for a place to connect with other Christians or a place to hear about it for the first time, come try Antioch Georgetown. I would absolutely recommend it.

Overall rating....B

My review is based on attending this church about 15 times over the past two years and watching many of the sermons on the church Youtube channel.

The People

Pastors are super friendly, approachable and engaging with congregation. People are also very friendly, mostly caucasian and casual dress. I don't recall ever seeing a suit in the place or even just a tie. Lots of children under the age of 10. There's a noticeable lack of teens and those few that I do see sit with their parents and don't appear to know or interact with each other which leads me to believe there is no youth group or it has minimal participation.

Parking

As mentioned in some other reviews I read parking can be a challenge, but I've arrived late many times and was always able to find or make a space in the surrounding empty lots. They have purchased land out by the tollway, but no building construction has started yet.

Music

Music kicks off the service and is usually 3 songs. The first two songs being typically more upbeat paced and the 3rd being deliberately slower and more reverent to get the audience into a receptive mindset for the sermon. Song selection is always contemporary tunes heard on Christian radio and not over produced or loud like Celebration church where the music team think they are there to put on a concert for you to watch. No hymns make the song list, but that's true of almost all churches these days. Would be nice to hear somebody or a duo with a great voice knock out a solo one day. As with most contemporary churches the singers are consistently the same adults in their 40’s which makes me question the opportunity for a young adult to get a chance. Many famous singers got their start performing in church as kids or teens so it makes me wonder how much young untapped singing talent is sitting in the congregations.

Sermons

No Joel Osteen prosperity gospel here thankfully, but it is..."soft Christianity" (explained below). Sermons are very bible based, always part of an ongoing series and run about 30-35 mins. The sermons (expository) explain biblical scripture well, but the connection from the scriptures (frequently old testament) to something practical and relevant in real every day life isn't always apparent to me so I'm often left with a feeling of...well I learned something about the bible, but don't see the applicability to daily life. It usually feels more like I attended a bible study than sermon.

Sermons will never cover controversial topics like abortion, homosexuality or gay marriage. Nor will the sermons ever address difficult topics like explaining suffering, the trinity or gods judgement/wrath and the need for salvation. Nor will the sermons address or even mention contemporary events concerning Christianity. Roe vs Wade reversal...no mention, Balenciaga BDSM marketing scandal...no mention. Hence the term "soft Christianity". I think people in the church seeing the moral decline of society often wonder when will god's hand intervene and come down, but maybe god is waiting for the church to stand up.

Nobody wants a politicized sermon, however in a day and age when modern culture is challenging Christian beliefs and values like never before many people are seeking pastoral guidance and leadership to provide bible based answers for themselves as well as those who might question them like their kids, extended family, friends and coworkers. That is not to be found here so don't expect apologetic teachings in the sermons. I think the reason many young people leave the church is because when confronted in college with questions on controversial or difficult topics they have not been prepared by their church to answer them.
