Grew up in area and attended the schools here. This Post 53 is kind of a historical icon. Really proud of the accomplishments of this American Legion Post 53 and the surrounding communities for supporting it. “God Bless them All”.

A great organization that values not only Veterans, but it's community. They have many events throughout the year. Including family friendly things like Breakfast with Santa or Hoppy, poker tournaments, Friday night dinners (you can call ahead and pick up like fast food, no need to stay!), ice cream social, community yard sales, flag retirement ceremonies, and many others.

They do rent out the hall for events. They have bathrooms, a kitchen, a bistro, and ample parking to compliment the very spacious hall. It is a non-smoking facility and they do not have a bar so it is very family friendly!

My favorite is the Friday night dinners! It is suoer cheap to feed a family of 6! I call the day before, go pick it up and feed the whole family a great home cooked meal WITH dessert for only $24! It's $6 per adult, $3 per child under 10. Main course, a side or 2, and dessert. Can't beat that deal! It's always PLENTY of food, too! If you stay they have activities. Sometimes live music, raffles for really nice stuff, etc.

I HIGHLY recommend hitting the events! They are FREE attend. The facilities are perfect for large events to rent.

If you are a Veteran or family member of a Veteran in need of ANY kind of assistance, no matter how trivial you think it may be, PLEASE seek them out. The purpose of all the events they do is to get the word out about services and to raise money to help Veterans and their families
