I absolutely love this dentist. As well as his assistant and the front desk girl! The hygienist is awesome too! Just had a painless, comfortable crown done. Didn't even feel the numbing injections.

First off, I want to say that the dentist and periodontist that have been taking care of me are great people and great at what they do. This review is mostly based on my experience with the billing side of things to date.

This process has been SO long and exhausting that I don't remember the fine details, but the general details are accurate. This all started early in Q1 of 2024.

I visit the Rocklin location for my dental work. It was recommended that I see their periodontist for perio work. We scheduled that and it was done in Roseville. It was recommended that I undergo some grafting. The A+ insurance team contacted my insurance company and after a few days, before the procedure, confirmed that the amount I would have to pay out of pocket ($9xx or so). I agreed, and we had the procedure done. Follow-up was at the Lincoln location.

During the procedure, I was not told that any additional work beyond the original scope needed to be done. So, no additional work was done.

After the procedure, I paid the amount previously agreed to ($9xx) by both parties.

Weeks later, I received a bill for $13xx (this is on top of the $9xx). I called A+ to see why I got the bill. It was explained to me that insurance denied a portion of the claim. I countered that the A+ team had checked with insurance and the amount agreed upon was $9xx (which I paid in full). I was told by the woman on the phone that she would let the person in charge know about the call, and that she would call me back. I never received a call.

Weeks later, I received the same bill. I called A+ again and a woman responsible for checking insurance answered. I had to explain about the situation, plus the previous interaction, and that no follow-up call was received from A+. The woman on the phone was insistent that insurance can deny claims after the procedure, to which I told her that the entire point of her checking with insurance before the procedure was to confirm (a) the amount they would collect from insurance and (b) the amount I would owe. Regardless of who got it wrong (A+ team or Insurance), any superfluous amount does not involve me (the customer), especially since no additional work beyond the original scope was done. If the A+ team was "unsure" of the final amount prior to the procedure, they were welcome to tell me prior to the procedure, which would give me the option to choose to go ahead with the procedure or seek treatment elsewhere. She stated that she would resubmit the claim to insurance and get back to me. I requested that all correspondance be sent via email as I now wanted everything in writing.

I did not get a callback, nor did I get anything in writing.

In an effort to protect myself, I went online to find an email address. No e-mail address can be found for this dental practice. I ended up submitting my concerns and explaining my situation via their online contact form and asked that they contact me.

I did not receive any reply.

A few weeks later again (today), I received a letter in the mail, stating that my insurance company has now "responded to all claims submitted by A+ Dental Care...this leaves your account with a balance of $242."

First, the fact that it was incorrectly calculated in the first place (how did it drop from $13xx to $242) is cause for concern, especially since the woman had insisted that I owed $13xx.

Second, what is this remaining $242 for?

Third, without additional information, there is no change to my stance. I should not owe anything I did not agree to; there was no extra work done. If the A+ insurance/billing team did not do their due diligence properly or sent the wrong codes to the insurance company, etc., it is not the responsibility of the customer to make up for their errors.

Today was the second time I had crowns applied at A+ dental in Rocklin. Dr Cooper is very friendly, focused, takes the time to discuss treatment needs, and does not do unnecessary work.
His assistant Britany was very compassionate towards my fears, reassuring me that I was in good hands, and she was right. I had little to no discomfort from Dr. Coopers great services.
Julia, the receptionist, was also very sweet and supportive.

Dr. Cooper & his staff are amazing, friendly and professional. Dr. Cooper and Lori are both exceptional at what they do! It is painless dentistry for sure! I even let Dr. Cooper pull my wisdom teeth while awake!!! Lori is so gentle with my routine cleanings and always gives me great instructions on future care!
I am truly impressed with this team!!
