I attended a wedding catered by A Family Affair catering. This review is from the guest perspective only. The food was fantastic, the best catered food I have had. The bar and appetizers were a great transition while photos were being done. The served buffet dinner included shrimp scampi, stuffed chicken breast and eggplant parmesan. Side dishes were salad, mixed vegetables, rice and bread. Hot food was hot, cold food was cold, everything was fresh and nothing was dried out. Servings were generous and there was only a small amount left over at the end of the event. The service was great and they were on track with the timing of the day’s events. The setup and break down went on in the background without intrusion into the couple’s big day. All in all, I was very impressed, this was the best catering at an event I have attended. Thank you for your contribution to making their special day wonderful.

The tasting with Roger was intimate and so informative. The food was delicious and it is obvious Roger is passionate about his cooking. The email chain we had was miles long and the whole team was so helpful, informative, and patient with an anxious bride like me! Our guests raved about every single menu item and two months later still talk about the meal they enjoyed.
We opted for the appetizers and bar service and it was such a delight to see a beautiful charcuterie grazing board and guests that never had an empty glass. We will forever recommend A Family Affair Catering.

I can't speak more highly of A Family Affair Catering. They exceeded all expectations for my wedding. Roger, the chef, served prime rib, stuffed chicken, rice casserole, mashed potatoes, eggplant parmesan, and salad, which were all incredible. My guests have repeatedly raved over how delicious the food was, as well as the amazing and friendly service they received from the servers and bartender. James went above and beyond helping set up and take down tables, chairs and decorations. He exceeded expectations in ensuring I was happy with every detail. I couldn't be more happy with A Family Affair Catering and highly recommend them for any catering event.

Pam and Roger are an absolute delight to work with! My husband and I used their services for our wedding and everyone loved the food! We have guests still talking about the tri tip and the sauce! Pam and Roger are very professional caterers who are there to help with all things food. We had a few tastings to make sure the sauces were just right and they even supplied our linens for the evening! If you have a wedding or event look no further! Pam and Roger will make sure your guests are served delicious food with friendly staff. Excellent service and will be using them again in the future!

Very disappointed in the customer service. We met with them and exchanged several emails and calls regarding a wedding menu. When we asked for the final quote and deposit they stopped returning emails and calls. We had spent a lot of time on this and then had to switch to another caterer, one that was more reliable. Glad we realized this before our big day!

I highly recommend A Family Affair Catering for any large event where you want people to eat well and have fun. We had our ~150 person wedding in March in Nevada City and, as foodies, wanted to make sure that the food was on point. When we originally booked back in 2019, we went to Pam and Roger's house to do our tasting, which was just so lovely. We ended up having to postpone our wedding twice due to COVID, and they were so gracious about having to reschedule, all while keeping the prices really affordable for us. On the day of the wedding, everything was so organized – appetizers and dinner came out in a super timely manner and the servers were all very nice and helpful. We asked that the catering staff help flip the room from ceremony to reception and help clean up after the wedding was over and they did an amazing job. Pam and Roger definitely go above and beyond – we're so glad that we booked with them.

Roger & Pam were very easy to work with.
They gave us great options and the pricing was very fair.
The food arrived on time and in serving dishes to keep everything warm.
All of the food was delicious, hot, & ready to serve.
I am beyond happy with the service provided.
They exceeded my expectations.
If you are looking for a great catering service for your celebration this company comes highly recommended.

We would not recommend this caterer. Roger is very abrupt and rude! The first time we meet Roger he was nice, helpful, we felt good about choosing them to cater our wedding. Roger promised one month before the wedding he we would come out go over everything, make any changes and collect the second deposit. Three weeks before the wedding I realized we had not heard from them. I called Roger, he was rude and didn't think it was necessary to come out (even thou I explained our layout for the venue had changed) he did come out, but when he arrived he was angry an abrupt! It was obvious he did not want to be there! Roger was so angry I felt like I was taking up his time and he just wanted to hurry up and get out! I the customer was walking on egg shells! My fiancé came up said hi, good to see you again, Roger's response was "I don't remember you!" He wasn't nice about it. I mentioned we hadn't heard from them therefore we forgot about the second deposit, Roger replied "they trust their customer will be responsible and keep their commitments! that it is not their responsibly to contact their customers, that it is the customers!" We wanted to cancel after that interaction but there was only three weeks before our wedding. On the day everything looked great the food was really good with the exception of the chicken, but I didn't mind since everything was going well. If that was the only issue we would have rated them four stars. It was extremely hot that day and no shade, our guest kept asking for more water while having their meal but they did not get any... After everyone received food Roger said they would call for seconds, that never happened... Guest who did ask for seconds were told no! food service was over! A few of our guest saw most of our leftovers go from the serving line straight into Roger's van! When it came time for our toast only the head server was pour champagne and it literally took 40 minutes. We paid for four servers but only saw the head server trying to accommodate everyone. We ask where all the help was and were told down in the kitchen.... Our DJ's wife stepped in to help pour champagne to speed things up. The cake/desserts were not put out till we were standing there waiting to cut the cake. Friends & Photographers asked three to four times for the desserts. Our photographer had to step in to show the servers how to set up the desserts/cake table. Coffee was to be out with desserts but it was no where to be found. After everyone had left it was found sitting on the ground by the DJ's area. No cups just coffee pots. The Waiter put it there when it started raining that was after 8pm. We paid for coffee that no one received. There were other details I was told that they would handle but they were missed as well. We think things got off track because Pam who coordinates everything was unable to be there due to a family emergency. Unfortunately this was not communicated to us on the day, Had we known we could have stepped in to help. The Head waiter was amazing! He worked really hard, but it was to much for one person to maintain a staff, be head waiter and coordinator for over 100 people. We were told by hotel staff that it was complete kayos in the kitchen with the servers. No one seemed to know what they were doing other then the head server. We talked with one owner to let her know the good and unfortunate sides to the day. The response was defensive at first, then didn't seem to believe what we were saying, tried to blame the DJ for not communicating with the staff, then me for not providing a full timeline. (Which no one asked us for) Before the wedding Roger was clear all he cared about was what time to serve dinner. He said he did not need any other details. We waited 13.5 years for this day with every detail planned. We trusted and paid good money to this catering company to facilitate our special day. This could have been a wonderful review had they communicated and full-filled what they promised. At the very least offered an apology or re-embarrassment for the coffee..
