I recently was a transient boater staying two nights at the club. The members took my friend and I in and made us very welcome to be there. Everyone was so friendly and tried very hard in the cold rainy weather to help us catch fish. The best place ever to dock a boat and meet great people!

Very friendly and helpful membership especially if you are new to boating or have an issue on the Lake. Gas dock and pump out available to the public. Launch ramp is for members only but if you have an emergency they will let you use the ramp to retrieve your boat. Transient docks available but limited establishments to walk to. Large public park (Grant Park) just a short walk over a bridge that features a great beach and hiking trails. Bar has a great view of Lake Michigan with very reasonable drink prices. Weekday hours start at 3:00pm. Weekends 10:00am. Very limited food menu at the bar (mostly good frozen pizzas). This is a private Club but all boaters are welcome. Lots of social activities with various themed parties almost every weekend.

We had our wedding there and it was extremely formal. I ordered liquor to be made into martini's and a 1/4 barrel of beer. Months after the order was placed they told me it was self serve beer. Then days before the wedding they said I had to have self serve martini's cause they had a shortage of bartenders and their members came first! This was all after the alcohol was ordered. I also had to provide additional martini glasses. I then tried to decorate, but I had to clean the entire venue first. When I asked why it wasn't clean they said their cleaning lady said "I didn't know there was a wedding so I didn't clean". They also said I could clean up the Sunday after the wedding in the late afternoon and have tables and linens picked up Monday. But Friday morning I got a call asking when I'd be out and that I had to have everything gone and clean by 12:00 for a baby shower. I was planning on being in the hotel till then. So the night of my wedding at 9:00 in my dress I began to clean along with all my other guests. They cannot accomodate a real wedding. They treated it like a barnyard hoedown. So don't get married here! Also although we are members we have been treated like we are members in name only and that other members have rights but we don't. This is our first year here and hopefully will be our last.

These people helped me out when my boat was taking on water, not only did they help me they drove me back to my truck to get my trailer and pull my boat out. They wanted no money but told me to promise to help out another boater in the future. Which we did a few months later. You guys are awesome!!!
