A great local business to find books and gifts. If they don't have a book, it can be ordered. They have a birthday club and a rewards program that is wonderful. There are a couple seats to sit and check out a book. There is a bargain section and a children's section. They host many authors in collaboration with the public library.

Such a cool store! My four year old and I walked in and were welcomed by the bookworm on the front door. The store itself is full of amazing books. There's a really well stocked children's section in the back. We came for the books and stayed for the giggles. There were very nice ladies in the front helping us and making us feel comfortable. We had a great time and will be back! Thank you for this wonderful bookstore!

I am so happy Carroll County has this hidden gem in Historic Sykesville that draws well-known people/authors to talk. I've seen Nicholas Sparks, and James Patterson with Eric Lupica (John Stamos sold out before I could order tickets, yet I was able to order an Autographed book to pick up later).
So, when my 4 year old grandson came to visit, we stopped in and it was like I was a kid again looking through the books and toys throughout the store with him.
I love the welcoming feel and choices the owner makes. It's a small town charming store with big city inventory! It's worth a visit for sure, just make sure you don't have anywhere else to be right away, you can lose track of time!

A super cute and cozy local book store! I love the vibe of this place and they have a great selection! They can also order anything they don't have in stock! The staff is super helpful and friendly and are fun to talk to! They also have a book club, frequent buyer program, and they have cute paper bags? This is going to be my go to shop from now on!

They look small from the window but actually have a pretty large interior with a big kids' book room and also some couches for reading. The space is used well and the featured books are displayed creatively -- they always pick interesting stuff. A good feature is the staff picks section. Staff pick out books and leave a small handwritten card describing what they liked about it.

They used to have a public restroom but no longer do, according to the person at the counter when I last went there. Might prove to be a problem if you bring kids. But maybe some other staff are more lenient...?

The used "lightly loved" book section has good bargains. A big selection overall for a small bookstore and a great personalized feel.

Nice bookstore with something for everyone. Staff recommendations are clearly displayed with detailed descriptions. Sweet children's section where youngsters can browse independently and safely. Very nice used book section. Helpful friendly staff who understand that browsing in a bookstore takes time!
