I've been a member of this wonderful place almost since its inception and have seen many great things happen to folks who really work the program, not those who continue to talk the talk, but don't walk the walk. Negative personal comments on this site do no one any good. People need to take care of their own side of the street and not blame others for their personal feelings. To negatively disparage others who have done so much to help, sponsor, council and teach people the program of Alcoholics Anonymous because one's feelings are hurt is wrong, and is evidence that maybe a sponsor, more meetings, or effort to work the steps sincerely or properly is urgently needed. So without using initials, many of us will pray for your enlightenment.

How lucky can one man be---to have an Alano just up the street?

Of course, it's much nicer than most Alanos that I have been to; it does not have a club-like (bar) atmosphere.

It feels sober and inviting and full of good fellowship---and it is.

I love the club. I have a life and friends now because I went to 12 step meetings there. I am also involved in social activities there too. Chili cook-off, murder mystery dinner, Euchre on Fridays, and more.

I came here to seek help for someone close to me and when I walked in, it took a couple minutes for someone to notice I was there even though there weren't too many people in the room. No big deal. The first person tells me he's not the one to talk to. Ok, fine. He asks another person to help me. She grabs a pile of papers, quickly walks me outside and gives me some phone numbers I can call and basically says that this isn't the place for me. Then she rushes back in, leaving me with mouth agape. So much for caring and concern for people's well being. They all acted like they couldn't wait to get me out of there and they certainly didn't seem to think I had a problem. What kind of Al-anon throws paperwork at you and rushes you out the door? I thought at least they might want to know how bad things were getting or what I tried so far. But nope, it was all about you're not welcome here so please leave. Thanks for nothing. By the way, you might want to pick a new location that's not RIGHT NEXT to a LIQUOR store.

This club and it's members saved my life. Prayer & Meditation meetings, Big Book Studies, Closed & Open discussion meetings and sooo many sober activities. Until I joined the PC Alano Club and got sober/clean from mind altering substances, I forgot what fun was. One person has used this review forum to lash out personally, apparently they have not been working a 12 step program. Grant me the Serenity to accept the things (people & places) I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. Remember, if you don't have anything nice to say - don't say it. Love, love this club!!

This place is a haven for the hopeless. It brings hope to those who are sick and suffering from alcoholism. The previous negative reviewer seems like she may be in a lot of emotional pain. We value anonymity as a founding tradition. If I am really working the steps and traditions, I would not lash out at others. I would not reveal who people are. I think these reviews speak for themselves, on who is sane.

I have not had a negative experience here period. I do find the negative reviews amusing though. Quality establishment for quality sobriety and sober networking. Great full for this place being .9 miles from home. ODAAT
