This review is long overdue but well deserved. I have been a patient of Dr. Wellens now for 16 months. The first year was for a toenail fungus. At my first appointment, she told me between the treatments and letting my nails grow out, it would take about a year. That's how long it took, and I was very pleased with the results. This was after I had been to a different podiatrist who put me on a 3 month oral medication treatment that did not work and then was told by this doctor to just use over the counter medications. I did this for several years and spent a lot of money on these meds only to have my toenail fungus get extremely worse. Since becoming a patient of Dr. Wellens, I have also had 2 ingrown toenails removed and surgery on a bunion and hammertoe. All these procedures have been successfully treated by Dr. Wellens.
Dr. Wellens is very professional. She thoroughly explains what the problem is and what medical procedure she will use to correct the problem. She responds very well to all concerns and questions. Working with her has been the best decision I have made to correct the problems I have had with my feet.
Dr. Wellens also surrounds herself with a caring and highly professional staff. On every visit, I have been greeted by the front desk office staff who are a friendly, knowledgeable group of ladies. All paperwork was completed quickly and if I had any questions they answered them in a professional manner. These ladies give a wonderful first impression of this office.
Wendi and Crystal are both excellent in their jobs. Wendi did the laser treatment for my toenail fungus. Her professionalism showed as she administered the treatment and engaged in pleasant conversation throughout the procedure. When I had questions, they were all answered in a very caring manner. She was always so positive throughout my treatments.
I am presently working with Crystal who is doing my follow up treatments for my bunion and hammertoe surgery. Again, the professionalism shines through as she answers all my questions and makes sure that I know what I need to do at home to have a successful outcome.
Dr. Wellens has earned my trust due to not only her extensive knowledge of how to deal with problems of the feet but also the fact that she sets a standard of professionalism that is highly visible throughout all who work with her in her office. They are well trained to complete the medical procedures, and they do it even better due to how they treat those of us who come to them for the health of our feet.
I highly recommend consulting with Dr. Wellens if you are having any type of foot problem.
