Gunnison Country Outfitters took us on a perfect 4-day horseback adventure in the backcountry of Colorado. Our every need was anticipated. The meals Stacy prepared in the camp kitchen far surpassed anything I've ever experienced while camping. The shelter was cozy and the bedding comfortable. The views were endlessly fabulous. Lastly and most importantly, the horses were very well mannered and capable on the rocky inclined trails. I give the experience five stars and highly recommend Gunnison Country outfitters.

My hunt with Gunnison County Outfitters was the most fun I have ever had hunting. Brevin and Tristen are excellent owners/managers and the guides are tremendous. To see huge bulls everyday, have access to top notch equipment, eat fantastic food by a professional chef, made for a great time. To top it off, shooting a 300 bull on the 4th day, was amazing. I highly recommend this crew if you want to have fun and see game everyday. They are professional, local and courteous. Cheers.

My brother inlaw and I went hunting for elk 2nd rifle. We had Brevin for our guide, he put us onto elk our first day hunting and we shot a bull elk the 2nd day. It was an awesome trip. The country is beautiful and Brevin really knew what he was talking about. The other guides in camp were great guys. We will definitely be coming back to gunnison outfitters for another elk hunt.

Good News & Bad News
Let's start with the good news. GCO will put you on game multiple times daily. I stalked several elk before taking the #2 bull in the valley on an AG tag in June 2018. The trip was fun, filled with great humor, laughter when not putting the sneak on a herd. Now the bad news. GCO is a little too good at what they do and my hunt ended on day 2. Heck...it took me that long just to drive there! So there ya have it...whaddaya waiting for? Book that trip before they fill their schedule.

I had an amazing time with Nick and his team, favorite hunt of the season by far. The experience was surreal, I've done plenty of hunts on my own and nothing compares to having a real guided experience like this in Big Elk Country. I would have been lost without them, the insider info was worth it alone! Can't wait to go back next year

First, they are great guys.
Pros- beautiful country, nice tent (held up to some big winds),knowledgable.
Cons - communications were full of misinformation: camp location was 3 miles from the stated location so our scouting efforts were mostly wasted.
We paid for 16 horses in and out but the trip out they only brought 14. We had to leave equipment behind and spend the night in a hotel to wait another day for our gear. I was personally assured enough horses would not be an issue.
7 guys, 9 days of hunting pretty hard and only 1 of us saw 1 cow elk, not a single bull. Zero deer, not even a doe.
Our tent was supposed to be set up the monday before our hunt, per Nick, but had obviously been there for some time. I think it was just a matter of convenience for them to not put us where we were originally supposed to be.
Communications were difficult, they need someone to answer phone calls and and answer questions.
All in all, I think they're a good bunch but are in over their heads.

Went for a 5 day 4 night horse back riding pack trip. Had an AMAZING TIME. Would LOVE to go back again. Nick took us out riding everyday and the views from the mountains were unbelievable.
Thanks to Nick and his crew for an unforgettable trip.

I put in for preference points for 21 years to draw this tag. After talking to a few outfitters I decided to put in for unit 55 and booked with Nick. He and his crew put in a real effort to find me a good mulie. After a lot of searching we found this old brute on the last day. I’ve hunted with a number of outfitters and no one’s perfect. Most of them I’ve dealt with are in it because it’s the life they want to live. These guys love their hunting and will do their best for you.
